The concept for the Jacksonville International Airport Restroom Project Proposal is loosely based on the views seen from an airplane window during flight.
One aspect of my studio practice considers how memory can be misleading and how these recollections are re-presented. These panels directly related to this practice.
Consider each image is like the telling of a story. Over the years of telling the same story, it becomes consciously and unconsciously changed. Over time the altered story becomes the factual version as told by the storyteller and believed by the listeners. In this proposal, it is less important to know the true identity of the initial image nor how it has been altered over time. It is vitally important we see each image as it is because it is the current factual version of an altered memory.
